We try to give a good picture of our roles in the job adverts, so in most cases we would suggest you apply for the role and discuss further with us if you are shortlisted.

If you are initially shortlisted, you’ll receive a phone call to discuss your application further.  If you haven’t been shortlisted, you’ll receive an email to let you know.  We aim to contact candidates as quickly as possible, so you won’t be kept waiting too long.

When you apply you’ll get an acknowledgement from us immediately.  Once the application is received, we use technology to keep track of it and keep you up to date, so there’s no need to contact us – it’s all in hand once you have received the acknowledgement!  Keep an eye on your emails for updates.

The majority of our roles here at MSV / PalmerSport will be offered on a permanent or casual basis. Unless stated otherwise, permanent positions are offered on a fixed 42.5 hour work week and salaried.

Our casual positions offer flexibility to candidates to pick and choose their shift availability. Casual positions are a great choice if you are looking to work on weekend event days. Due to how the race season works, we are able to offer more shifts throughout the summer months than throughout the winter. 

In order to apply for any roles at MSV / PalmerSport, you must be at least 16 years old and of school leaving age (as a general rule that means you will be studying in the equivalent of Year 12 or above).  Due to licensing restrictions, some roles may require you to be 18 or over.

Given the nature of our operations, we do not currently have a formal work experience programme in place.  Should this change we will advertise it here.  Once you meet the criteria in point 6 above, you are more than welcome to gain experience in an employed role.

As part of our recruitment process, we complete a number of checks. Please see below list:

• Right to work check
  It is a legal requirement that all applicants provide sufficient right to work documentation to prove to us that you hold the right to work here in the UK.  If you have a current passport we can run that check online using a service called TrustID.  Otherwise, a list of required documents can be found below. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/right-to-work-checklist/employers-right-to-work-checklist-accessible-version
• Reference Checks
  As part of our onboarding process, you’ll be required to provide two referees that we can contact in order to confirm, as a minimum, that your employment dates match what is stated on your CV.
• DBS Checks
  You’ll be asked about any convictions as part of our onboarding process and we do complete a basic DBS check on all successful applicants for permanent roles, and selected casual roles. 
• Driving Licence Check
  As part of our onboarding process, if your role requires you to drive a company vehicle, we will complete a check of your driving licence using a DVLA share code.

Due to the number of applicants we receive we can’t promise to provide feedback on every application.  Feedback will be given via email for any candidates that attend an interview within one week of their interview.

For all roles at MSV / PalmerSport we will require as a minimum an up to date CV with education details on. We also welcome covering letters and any additional documentation in support of your application. You’ll have the opportunity to upload any supporting documents throughout the application process.

In most cases we will have an initial call with any shortlisted applicant to cover any immediate queries or concerns arising from your application. You can then expect to be invited to a face to face interview at one of our offices which may include a work based exercise and for more senior roles a further interview. For some casual roles we may hold open day events.
